Who We Are

Neel Lighting & Controls is a manufacturer’s representative serving ten counties in central California. With a combined staff experience of over 75 years, we are able to offer our customers a unique level of hands-on service and bring a complete array of products to the markets we serve. Neel Lighting & Controls has its administrative offices in Santa Paula with a field office in Fresno.

 

Meet the Team


David Neel
Sales

David is the owner of Neel Lighting and Controls and calls on specifiers, distributors and contractors along the coast as well as the valley. David specializes in design/build, specification, high end residential and architectural/residential controls projects and has been a manufacturer's representative since 1986. Before returning to his native California in 1995, he worked for firms in Arizona, Mississippi and Oklahoma. He is an affiliate member of AIA chapters in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura and Bakersfield and is past president of the local Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) chapter. David is also a board member of the 'Murphy Classic Car Foundation', a 501c3 non-profit, as well as a board member of 'Visit Oxnard', an organization which promotes meetings, group travel, and tourism in the greater Oxnard area. David is married and has two boys and enjoys outdoor recreation and playing with classic cars.

Ian Clements
Sales

Ian was born, raised and educated in England. He is our outside salesman for Ventura, Santa Barbara (North), and San Luis Obispo Counties. Ian’s lighting industry experience goes back to 1994, and encompasses tenure with a high-end architectural lighting manufacturer, an electrical contractor, and lighting manufacturers’ representatives.
Being familiar with all aspects of residential, commercial and architectural lighting, he can help you with layouts and design/build projects. Ian’s experience in project quotations, and an in-depth familiarity with many manufacturer’s lighting lines make him a valuable asset to us and to our customers.

Linda Clements
Project Manager

Linda has been with Neel Lighting and Controls since 2005. She performs customer service duties, commission reconciliation and project management.
Linda has been in the industry since 1992, starting at BEGA where her duties included customer service, production scheduling and accounts receivable. Linda has also worked in distribution and private consultation. Her wide range of experience is an asset to us and to our customers.

Paul Rivera
Sales

Paul Rivera joined our team in early 2015. Born and raised in Santa Paula, he has a degree in business management from California State University Los Angeles. Paul will be working with electrical contractors and distributors and helping them with their lighting and lighting control projects. Paul is very hands on, enjoys working with people and enjoys the technical side of the business. When not at work, Paul enjoys hiking, fishing and racing cars.

Chon Camacho
Sales

Chon Camacho is our outside salesman in the central valley for all counties north of Kern, up to Yosemite. He is a Fresno native and has been in the business since 1991.
Chon comes to us from the distribution side of the business. He was a warehouse manager, counter salesman, inside salesman, project manager and a purchasing agent. His knowledge of the customers and of lighting and controls make him a valuable asset. Chon is a graduate of Fresno City College and a Marine.

Jessica Lucas
Customer Service

Jessica has been our lead customer service contact since 2009. Jessica handles our customers’ everyday stock orders, handles returns and RGA’s, freight claims and other customer service issues. She knows who to talk to at our factories to get things done and is an irreplaceable part of our business. Jessica is a Ventura native and when not at work, enjoys spending time with her family and two boys.

Andreas Hoeke
Specification Sales

Educated in Germany and London, England, Andreas came to California in 1995, initially selling Frank Lloyd Wright Lighting for the Foundation’s licensee, Yamagiwa USA. Andreas has attained a strong lighting background through sales, management and ownership of various lighting companies. He held positions in major lighting industry firms such as Holophane, Erco, Artemide, Flos, Leucos and HK Lighting Group. Andreas will support architects, lighting designers, electrical engineers and other specification influencers throughout the specification process, till final project realization. Besides work, he loves spending time with his family, traveling, sailing, motorcycling and hiking.

Dan Rivera
Sales

Dan Rivera is one the newest members of the team. He came to work at Neel Lighting & Controls in September of 2018 from outside the industry. A native of Santa Paula, Dan graduated with a degree in Economics from UCSB and runs our quotations department. When not at work, Dan enjoys hiking, playing blackjack and poker, cooking and wrenching on his Subaru.

Christiane Harris
Marketing

Christiane is in charge of the web design, social media and email marketing campaigns. Christiane has has over 20 years of graphic design and marketing experience making her an invaluable asset to the team. She is a Ventura County native, now residing in Ventura. When she is not in front of the computer, creating marketing campaigns for Neel Lighting, she enjoys jewelry making and camping in her vintage trailer.
